Miles Davis is ontegenzeggelijk een van de beste en meest invloedrijke jazz-muzikanten van de laatste vijftig jaar. Deze DVD vertelt het complete verhaal van de in '91 overleden legende, van zijn jeugd in East St. Louis tot zijn laatste jaren waarin hij als een rockster de wereld over reisde.The Miles Davis Story bevat alleen maar unieke beelden. Zo zien we de negentienjarige student Miles samen met Dizzy Gillepsie en Charlie Parker, opnamen in '49 van het sleutelwerk Birth Of Cool, de samenwerking met Gil Evans voor Kind Of Blue, beelden van zijn kwintet met John Coltrane in de jaren '50, van het kwintet met Herbie Hancock en Wayne Sorter in de jaren '60 en van de totstandkoming van Bitches Brew.
