The Sourcing Specialist will be part of the Procurement team and will report to the European Procurement Manager Plastics.

The Sourcing Specialist will take care of the numerous new raw materials which are needed for new product developments most of which will be used by Automotive and CEM businesses, as well as resume responsibility for some existing supply categories. In a close cooperation with R&D and TS&D, he / she will investigate in the supply market, suppliers and technologies available for needed applications and outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

Searching and identifying the right supplier, sourcing market and technology for each new raw material;
Supporting R&D, TS&D and Supply-Chain with procurement know-how and commercial functions;
Managing a number of suppliers for existing products in the widest sense, like maintaining supply relationship, managing commercial aspects and continuously exploring supply opportunities;
Knowing and using best in class procurement techniques and accepted processes, including managing the FMEA process and addressing the risk and exposure for Trinseo;
Coordinating activities with Procurement personnel in other regions from time to time to execute regional needs for global categories in accordance with global strategies set by Procurement leadership;
Responsible to support the European Procurement Manager Plastics in running and executing priorities set by the Strategic Supply Council;
Responsible for facilitating sharing of information and support from suppliers.

Functie-eisen
Your background:

Technical Masters Degree preferably in chemistry, engineering, supply chain, operations management or economics;
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in procurement;
Experience in a development function in the chemicals or plastics industries and to work in cross functional teams in new product design, specifically with engineering, is a pre;
Well versed in building and arguing business cases as well as commercial negotiations in the chemical industry;
Chemical industry understanding, as well as understanding in how to interpret common indexs in pricing structures;
Able to work geographically remote from the rest of the procurement team;
Basic knowledge of legal language for supply agreements.
