Men maakt gebruik van de database XDDM Vista ATI Radeon XDDM 6.14.10.6606.zip van het Internet ontwikkeld door derden. En ook Diamond Multimedia heeft aangepaste driver ondersteuning gerealiseerd voor Windows 7 32-bit systemen en zijn er voor Windows 8 32-bit en Windows Vista waarbij de videokaart PCI of AGP van volledige functionaliteit kan worden voorzien in de kader van grafische standaarden en mogelijkheden van de Radeon 9250 GPU.

Omschrijving

Deze door Club 3D Radeon 9250 model 2006 uitgebrachte low profile uitvoering is de meest veelzijdige en krachtigste uitvoering uit de entry level Radeon 9000 series waarbij deze uitvoering duielijk onderscheid maakt als het gaat om prestaties engeschikt om het systeem te onlasten van grafische taken. Het print circuit board van de videokaart is speciaal ontwikkeld voor extended Office taken en allround multimedia thuis of op het werk die een grotere grafische capaciteit vragen van de grafische prestaties van de computer .

De Radeon 9250 nam qua prestaties en mogelijkheden snel afstand van de Geforce 4 MX modellen. Daarnaast biedt de GPU Radeon 9250 bijvoorbeelde en hogere kloksnelheden dan de voorgaande series De GPU van de 9250 werkt met 4 Pixel Pipelines en 1 Vertex Shader Pipeline in tegenstelling tot Geforce 4 MX440 / 4000 kaarten waarbij Shader taken nog door de Pixel Pipelines worden uitgevoerd en de prestaties aanzienlijk beperken. Ook de sotfware aansturing met DirectX 8.1 / Direct3D 8 met betere grafische weergave is een goort voordeel ten opzichte van de Geforce 4 series en ouder

De Radeon 9250 generatie had destijs relatief nieuwe beeldtechnieken ten opzichte van de Geforce 4 series; SmoothVision weergeven van vloeiende beelden of Smart Shader voor het weergeven van complexe details en schaduwen. Ook de FullStream techniek voor het weergeven van streaming video .

Met maar liefst 256MB DDR fysiek geheugen heeft deze Radeon 9250 genoeg framebuffer/ geheugen voor het weergeven van grotere complexe grafische taken, Maar belangrijkste is dat U met deze uitvoering beschikt over een videokaart met de 128-bit memory bus die zorgt voor een snelle communicatie tussen het geheugen en de processor, waarbij het verantwoordelijk is voor de hogere bandwijdte van het geheugen.
Deze zwaarwegende 128-bit memory bus maakt het voor de Radeon 9250 ook mogelijk om ook daadwerkelijk te kunnen werken met de grotere hoeveelheid geheugen en het snel te kunnen raadplegen. De 128-bit memory bus en de verhoogde memory bandwijdte zal men dan ook merken in de performance in grafische prestaties als men de grafische kaart verwerkt in een geschikt systeem met het juiste besturingsysteem.

De kaart kan goed worden ingezet in een Workstation, Office PC, tweede AGP systeem die bijvoorbeeld gebruikt wordt voor online en offline media playback (MPEG,DVD) en acceleratie van HD streaming.

Als het om entry level Gaming gaat heeft de Radeon 9250 4 Pixel Processing Pipelines en beschikt de grafische processor ook over een Vertex Shader voor gebruik in complexe 3D beelden waardoor(Online Minecraft) en oudere Retro Games zoals; Unreal Tournament 2004, Half life, Counter Strike Source, Day of Defeat:Source, Need for Speed Most wanted, Flat-out 2 of Half Life, Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2 en vele andere classics goed kunnen draaien.

n.b. De Gameplay die ik op Youtube heb vergeleken waren meestal getest met de 64-bit, 128MB uitvoering van de Radeon 9250, zodoende kunt dus met de 256MB DDR en 128-bit memory bus rekenen op nog betere prestaties in de hiervoor besproken Games en andere applicaties.

De kaart beschikt over DVI-I / Single / Dual Link dit is geschikt voor digitale signalen zoals HDMI en met de dubbele bandbreedte van DVI Dual Link liggen resoluties van max 2560 x 1600 in het bereik. Voor een enkele single link is deze resolutie viir DVI maximaal 1600 x 1200. Naast Digitale signalen is de kaart voorzien van standaard VGA analoog met resoluties van 2048 x1536 en een TV-out S-Video 4-pin~ tot HDTV-out 7-Pin,Component RGB YPbPr (HD encoded) waarbij HD resoluties in het bereik zijn.1920 x 1080 pixels.

n.b. Deze generatie kan zowel overweg met DirectX 8.1 (100% Compliant) en DirectX 9.0 (compatibel) voor 3D applicaties want de Radeon 9250 series zat destijds net in de overgang tussen de ontwikkeling van grafische standaarden Deze uitvoering is als het gaat om prestaties krachtiger dan de Geforce 5 FX 5200, 5500 series, maar mist de Shader Model 2.0 en 100% DirectX 9.0 Compliance, zodoende moet men zelf bepalen eigenschappen per Game of applicatie belangrijkers vindt, de prestaties of de toch de verfijnde belichting (voorbeeld bij alleen 3D applicaties)

De Radeon 9250 generatie is offciëel ondersteund met stuurprogramma's voor Windows XP e.o , Linux Solaris Unix en Open Source besturingsystemen. e.o. echter Windows Vista, Windows 7 en Windows 8 worden in de basis ondersteund vandaar de Radeon 9250 GPU ook goedkeuring heeft in het Microsoft Compatibiliteits Centrum voor deze nieuwe besturingsystemen. Echter de Radeon 9250 heeft geen WDDM ondersteuning die noodzakelijk zijn voor de volledige werking van de Grafische User Interface met Aero effecten.

1) After extracting the files from the compressed folder, run the executable file entitled "S9250W732-BIT.exe".

2) After running the executable file, the Device Manager window will appear. Go to the section labeled "Display Adapters" and right-click on the device labeled "Standard Graphics Adapter". Select the option that says"Update Driver Software" from the shortcut menu.

3) On the window that open up on your screen, select the option that says"Browse" my computer for driver software" and click "Next".

4) On the next screen, click the "Browse" button and on the pop-up window that appears, navigate to the following folder:

"Computer" -> "Local Disk (C:)" -> Diamond -> S9250PCI256

and then click the "OK" button.

5) Click the "Next" button and the drivers will begin to install. You may have to restart your computer more than once in order to get the monitors to work.

6. Double click the XP driver package and run it under the guidance.

n.b. DVI geeft een volledig digitaal signaal zonder kwaliteit of gegevens verlies en is HDMI gelijkwaardig als het om beeld gaat. Pixels worden door de 24-bit RGB gegevens stroom bepaald. Het is bij DVI mogelijk 2 parallelle verbinding te realiseren waardoor de bandbreedte wordt verdubbeld (Dual Link). Met de dubbele verbinding kunnen hogere resoluties worden behaald of/ en hogere frame rates.
