'Adrenaline voor je Personal computer' is de titel van de Radeon X1300 en dat is ook precies wat U kunt verwachten als U mindere videokaarten of onboard videokaarten vervangt voor deze X-series De grafische kaart X1300 series is ontwikkeld voor MS Windows Vista en dus ontworpen voor een omvangrijk en grafisch sterk besturingsysteem als het gaat om de grafische functies en mogelijkheden van de Windows GUI Graphic User Interface. Deze interface omvat onder andere Aero; een stijvol, elegant voorkomen, met tranparante menus, animations, icons. Deze grafische eigenschappen worden doormiddel van WDDM ( Windows Display Driver Model) 1.0 aangestuurd die van oorsprong bij Windows Vista is geintroduceerd. Deze grafische eigenschappen vinden we doorontwikkeld ook terug in Windows 7, Windows 8 en ook in Windows 10. Daarom is de X1300 dan ook geschikt voor deze nieuwe besturingsystemen gezien deze generatie Direct 3D compatibel is en DirectX 9.0c en Shader Model 3.0 ondersteund. De X1300 is van de entry level Radeon X-series de meest krachtige uitvoering, met de hoogste prestaties en mogelijkheden. Hogere GPU kloksnelheden, met flexible mogelijkheden dit nog verder aan te passen. Ook beschikt de X1300 over forse geheugen snelheden waarbij er ook nog eens gebruik wordt gemaakt van sneller DDR2 geheugen waarbij de geheugen snelheid effectief boven de 800 MHz DDR uitkomt en met 128MB DDR2 is dit meer dan voldoende voor media weergave in welke vorm dan ook. De X1300 ondersteund Shader Model 3.0 voor weergave van complexe 3D beelden en kan dan ook gebruikt worden voor een zeer uitgebreide selectie van Games in de DirectX 9.0c klasse, zoals Doom 3 tot Crysis, gezien de Shader prestaties voor een 64-bit uitzonderlijk hoog zijn in deze klasse. Daarnaast ondersteund de X1300 ook Hybride CrossFire met bepaalde AMD AM2+ Chipsets waarbij de onboard grafische adapter samen werkt met de X1300 om zo nog betere prestaties in 2D en 3D mogelijk te maken. Dat maakt deze videokaart een geschikte upgrade voor de home user die meer wil met digitaal op de computer dan wel voor de HTPC. De kaart kan de playback van de huidige bestandsformaten dan ook makkelijk aan evenals grafische foto bewerking en videocapture. De X1300 series is zeer geschikt voor de weergave van digitale media en HD bestanden met hoge resoluties en HDCP, vandaar deze kaart ook standaard is uitgevoerd met een DVI-I (HDMI optioneel met adapter ) met Single Link 1900 x 1200 Dual-link aansluiting en een uitgebreide HDTV-Out aansluiting waarbij RGB,Component video, YPbPr , HD encoded tot 1080i mogelijk zijn.
