Principal Shriman Narayan Agarwal, a renowned interpreter of Ghandian thought, is well known to economic and political thinkers in India and abroad. He is an experienced and progressive educationist and has been a pioneer in several important reforms in the Indian education. Mahatma Ghandi wrote of him as one of the young men who have sacrificed a prosperous, perhaps even brilliant career for the service of the motherlandHe has in him an extraordinary amalgam of scholarship, sobriety and humility.
Principal Agarwal regards Gandhism as a dynamic and revolutionary urge for a new way of life.

THE BOOK IS ACCOMPANIED BY TWO TYPEWRITTEN LETTERS, SIGNED BY HAND IN INK BY S.N. AGARWAL
The first one, in an envelope, where the stamps have been cut out, has been dated july 4, 1951, is written in English and is about the membership of the addressee (Mrs. G.V. Heerikhuizen-Wels, a Dutch admirer of Gandhi) of the Sarvodaya Samaj movement In addition Principal Agarwal encourages her zeal in propagating Gandhis ideas in The Netherlands. (scan 5).
The second one, in an envelope with Indian stamps, has been dated 8-11-1951 and is a bit more elaborated.
Agarwal emphasizes Gandhis practical non-violence and his strict vegetarianism. He states that medical drugs should not be used unnecessarily (Naturopathy). And, in the last paragraph he elaborates on Gandhis attitude during the 1942 Movement. (scan 6)
He concludes both letters with Cordial greetings, yours sincerely....
